Adam Zorzi I had to put it down after the first 5 pages to get over this false premise. In Connecticut, the wife is entitled to 1/3 of the estate no matter what the will says. [If they're legally separated, the separation agreement would address the issue.] Sydney may not have known it, but her lawyer would have.

I wanted to read the book about the fashion industry so I suspended belief and went along w/this false premise.

Ruth It looked like Steel covered that base by means of the couple’s pre-nup, which declared their assets stayed separate. I dunno if that’s Ct law or not, and if the death of one entitles the other to 1/3 of the estate, even under that agreement, then yes, it’s a basic plot flaw.
