I agree about the necklace! I kept waiting for something else to come out about it, unless that was another one of Mike's delusions (maybe Verity didn't see it as important as Mike did?) Still, if he kept referring to her as her eagle, I'd stop wearing the necklace.

Agreed - although someone could technically play with a necklace like that all the time, not even consciously. It's more of a habit. Nevertheless, it's a clue...but then again, Mike is an unreliable narrator.
Yes, she was definitely playing some type of game. I found her to be off balance. A definite attention seeker. She had plenty of opportunities to get help to stop Mike from stalking her. But she never did. Why would her husband get so drunk, if she did not want out of the marriage? I just think she never thought it would end in murder. So that is when she played the victim.
I think the touching of the necklace might have been part of his delusion too. I wonder if he made up the whole signaling part. Maybe she just likes the necklace and he concocted a fictional narrative that it was a call for rescue.
