Jeanne You bet they do. It's an assault to our senses.

Jeanne So you don't watch television either? I mean, profanity is part of normal life. I can't imagine refusing to read books or watch movies or shows because I might hear certain words. Your world must be kind of small.

Jeanne Like I was just doing the NYT mini crossword and the clue referred to a gloriously obscene song called I'm On A Boat. My life is made richer by referring to that song and snickering.

Anita It's all about choices. Some people want to choose not to have profanity fill their minds. Nothing wrong with that

Jeanne Really limits what you can read in my opinion to religious and YA but if that's your only criteria for a book then you do you. Personally I'm more interested in plot and character and I'd rather stick to adult literature.
