The thing is, American Indians generally prefer to be called "Indian" -- many (arguably most) see "Native American" as a term dreamt up by white people to make themselves feel better. The ORIGINAL title of the book was ABSOLUTELY racist, however... YEESH.
The PC stuff is why my granddaughter's high school English class only read half of To Kill a Mockingbird. It was cut off because of some parents complaining about it being racist. It is probably the most anti-rascist book ever written. Very sad. My granddaughter finished the book and thought it taught her more about her ancestry than any history book. I am just saying be careful of wiping out history and truth to sanitize language.
