Amber Martingale Yes, it WAS subtle. If it were a romance novel, Tavi and Kiti would have been in the sack immediately AFTER the end of *Furies of Calderon,* instead of *Academ's Fury* which takes place 2 YEARS after the first book.

George In that case, I wholeheartedly recommend the October Daye novels by Seanan McGuire, beginning with Rosemary and Rue.

Amber Martingale I wish I could edit my spelling error on the name "Kitai" in my previous comment.

Isabella Therese I thought it was subtle. If the entire novel had been driven by there romance, then yes, but it was simply a sideline to the main events. I found it a really enjoyable relationship to read. Unlike Amara and Bernard who need to pay attention to what is going on around them.
