I would love to read this book in Spanish!
The dutch translation says there were four words ... and 'Ik hou van jou' has four words in dutch...
The author not only never confirmed the words were "I love you" but she even said she wasn't really sure what those words were. I don't think the translators knew more than the author but I honestly can't think of a better alternative for a "only three letters" postcard
Nevermind, I just read Ria Olivar's comment and any of these is good enough as well:
"I miss you", "See you soon", "Nothing Ever Ends"
I guess the words themselves doesn't matter but the meaning that they're "hopeful and happy"
Omg! Yes! Reminds me of one of Isabelle Allende's short stories, "Dos Palabras" which means two words, and in the letter she writes to the General, we are left to assume it's Te quiero or Te Amo.
