Eric I think this is one of those rare books that its possible to enjoy *more* after you've watched the TV show. Susan was right on the money about the show being way more compelling, and once I had a good picture of the characters in my mind and was already emotionally attached to them, it made the book far better than I think it would have been without that.

Anne N. Agreed. I watched the show second and enjoyed the story more. I thought they tightened it up too, which was appreciated, though from other comments, it sounds like those changes would screw up trilogy-long arcs?

Dave Thanks for this. I just started the Netflix series and love it, but was debating on reading the source material because I want more about the world building. Too many names and phases sneak by me on the screen.

Ruby Jean I totally agree. This book was really hard to read, the characters were messy and I couldn't understand what the heck was going on a lot of the time. It is not fast paced and just feels like no effort was put into it
