How a bunch of technologically inferior people can ambush a vampire that can sense/read thoughts/feelings and a super soldier with enhanced senses. Not to mention our dear Android/Cyborg being effected by darts spiked with a sleep agent. Turning your whole female crew into damsels in distress didn't really help either.
I would also appreciate a reason why Eve couldn't contact Adam in book 4 when they were apprehended by Victoria.

If you had just kept reading book 5 and 6, you would have gotten your answers ;-).

For book 4, Eve was in the jail cell in the basement of the police station and out of range of Adam.
