Doh Moody Excellent responses. The importance of Westovers book is that this exists in our country, Patricia. Her life on the mountain, though horrifying, was her “normal”. Try reading it again or, better yet, read more reviews. Perhaps they will help you see Westovers book through the eyes of others.

Catherine What an education I had -- it was horrifying. I felt pain for this woman on every page. I thank her for writing it -- it was brave and heartbreaking. I am glad she has lived to tell.

Gigi This is exactly why I read this book. To be able to understand and be exposed to another way of life. I was "Educated" too.
