Zoe Her "seduction" doesn't fit with Sophocle's Antigone. In the play, Antigone was betrothed to Aemon, who was in love with her yet we don't know whether this love was reciprocated. Antigone didn't try to benefit from this relationship - Aemon acted on his own will.
The inherent cynicism that Anneeka's actions reflect is, in my view, in complete contrast with Antigone - and one of the reasons I completely disagree with the term "retelling" and the decision that this book would be marketed as such.
