Theoretically, it could also be her uncle from years before Percy Jackson, but I think we would all prefer that he is her cousin. :)

(CONTAINS SPOILERS) It's confusing, but Annabeth's dad also had a sister as well as a brother (that has been mentioned) and Magnus is a child of her and a Norse God.
Yes, he is anabeths cousin. She was in the book a little, but not a whole lot, at the beggining and the end. It amakes me so happy. I did not even notice this until she actually showed up in the book
I imagine that the hammer of thor will contain some help from camp half blood or at least the prophisised 7
it even describes her as annabeth would be described, he even adds her yankees cap!!!!!
She talks about safe place for people like him also. So yes it is the same family. I think he is going to do cross overs either during this or separate set of books/stories, like he did with the egyptian (kane), greek (jackson/chase)
