p.s.--Feel free to let me know, Bill, if your question hasn't been answered yet! By "unremarkable" you meant. . . what?
That's a fascinating and in depth answer Pamela. I was expecting maybe he could be moody etc. He picked me up hitchhiking in late 79 very early 80 and when he asked about my faith I responded about some of my bad habits and he explained that was a mask. He has helped me learn more about the love of God than any other person. And I didn't really dig into his music until after he passed. Sing Your Praise changed both our lives.
Bill, do you mean the song, "Give/Sing your Praise to the Lord?"
I suppose you are referring to the fact "Give/Sing Your Praise to the Lord was his breakthrough song with Nashville. In what way did it change your life, if you don't mind my asking?
I was a single dad struggling in life and I heard his tribute (only this was 99) while I was building a fence. When I realized he had died I had tears rolling down my face. I decided there I was going to take that approach (Sing Your Praise To The Lord I can never tell you how much good it's going to do you just sinnngggg your praises to the Lord). I started being grateful to God instead of constantly questioning why I was where I was in life. That grateful to God attitude changes everything about perspective.
