linda brightman-white I was raised in Old Leake and spent my childhood on the marshes. Used to stand in an old RAF watch tower and watch the fighter planes from waddington, conningsby etc do bombing practice. Over the years bodies washed up amongst other things..reading your books takes me back to my childhood, the strange characters that lived around us, and the hidden areas like the deserted bunker in a field near the watch tower...I saw lights many times amongst other things but put down to smugglers...keep them coming Joy, I love Nikki...

Joy Ellis Hi Linda, Lovely to hear from you. I am so pleased that you are enjoying Nikki's Fen series. I know Old Leake and weirdly enough I was there last week, taking a sick hedgehog to the Hedgehog rescue hospital in Pode Lane! Sadly so many of the old watch towers are being demolished now, but there still some very wild areas left, thank heavens! I am so pleased that the books give you a connection to your past, and it's really great that you know the area so well. Thank you so much for getting in touch, All the very best, Joy x
