I just found the whole thing odd. I think your explanation is definitely better said than mine.
Yes, I agree. I found the sex scene with Dexter unconvincing because Anna suspected he was responsible for her father's disappearance and possible death. Her character was very independent and this psychological father figure device did not work for me. Even more bizarre was getting pregnant and having to lie about the father. I don't get this ending either. I would have enjoyed her killing Dexter Styles and then using her diving skills, have his body dumped in Manhattan Beach.
I agree. her attraction to him seemed sudden and unexplained.
