Exact same order for me. Just finishing 3 (Devil's Punch Bowl) now. I, too, was unaware that there were books before Natchez Burning, and not having read them didn't take away from that reading. However, I'm sure that "The Bone Tree" and "Mississippi Blood" benefit from having at least read "Natchez Burning."

Looking forward to jumping back to number 6 in a day or two when I finish 3.
