Wonderful! We used to hike from chickasha to spots outside of verdin when I was in undergrad! I love small town southwestern weird fiction, and there’s precious little of it set here (let alone by individuals personally familiar with the area). The only ones that spring to mind are those two stories edited/co-written by Lovecraft.
If you get a chance, check out my Boy's humor series, The Boys of 58, Boys of 59 and The Boys of 1960. Takes place in Verden, first book in the year 1958 ect.
