I agree with Adrian's comment. For me, ideas need to simmer over time. It's certainly true that many if not most of the ideas are repeated in Deus. Still, they are often taken from a different slant. Additionally, it's helpful to have the core ideas repeated. Though l haven't finished Deus yet, if I had to read only one, I'd probably read Sapiens. Sapiens is the "If this" part of the phrase, "If this, then that." Deus is the, "Then that". So, I guess it depends on whether you want This or That. For me, both. And, that's with being in disagreement with much of his world-view. He makes me question what I believe. That's a good thing.
