Jeannette Is there a general ETA on this next project? I'm comfortable being pushy and rude. This new book sounds just as weird and fun as Mount Char.

Scott Hawkins It's pretty close. There's a beginning, a middle and an end. If I died tomorrow, other people could read it and it would make sense. But it needs polish.

I don't know how many software engineers you know, but there's a well-deserved stereotype of us being pathologically incapable of telling you when something will be ready. And even by that standard, I really suck. So please believe that I'm not being coy, I really, honestly just don't know.

That said, I hope and expect that I'll be ready to start showing it around in a matter of weeks.

Jeannette That's a fair answer. I don't know many software engineers but that's pretty clear. I'm looking forward to it, thank you!

Ken Jackson Does the book still need to be sold to a publisher? If so, do you have any concerns that a book about a school shooting might not sell? It sounds interesting and, to be clear, I would read the book based upon your description on your website.

Jeannette I work in a library and school shooting topics are surprisingly hot right now. I think people want to understand more about what's in the head of the shooter more than they did back when Columbine happened.
