Just want an opinion. That was mine, just wondered if anyone else felt the same way. I know she wasn't. But kept thinking she was.
Spoiler alert.. it is my impression from reading the end of chapter 23 that Judy is the twin that survived - “The tiny girl becomes Judy Myers Stanford.” I’m not exactly sure how she gets connected with Trent Sr. (I’d have to read back through that part), but I believe he is the one who unearthed everything.
Yes!!! I’m sorry I didn’t comment earlier but it’s been a couple of months that I fiinished the book and I couldn’t remember exactly. The book also mentions, if I remember correctly, that grandma Judy had blue eyes and Camille had brown eyes and that’s why they didn’t want her..
Yes, camellia has dark hair, and brown eyes, so I knew she was not a part of the sisters group! Judy was one of the twins of Queenie and Briny, that was taken at birth, and adopted by the woman whose baby died at the very beginning of the book! It was very confusing, but i pieced it together.
Judy only knew her birth parents through the stories and memories of her biological sisters. It would have been interesting to know how Trent Sr. found and united them but a book can only be so long. Maybe another book?
I would LOVE another book... explaining all the children's lives that survived & what happened to those that didn't. I agree with many other comments I've read. I would like to know what happened to Camellia. Then there is the tease of Shad Foss (other twin found by Tent)... what was his life like? I am also confused about Eliot who came to the orphanage to try to help Rill/May escape > why? Wasn't he just the boy she just met on the River boat just before they were kidnapped? Why does he feel such an obligation?
Elliot? You might be mistaking him for Silas? Elliot was Avery’s fiancé. And Silas and Rill has a connection from the get go. He was young but he fell in love with her in that short period of time. Even if it wasn’t love, Zede left him responsible to take care of Arcadia and all the children. So he must have felt somewhat obligated.
