Jane Jermyn Sorry Richard - Castro wasn't sending anyone cigars in 1952 - he came into power in 1959 - no-one had even heard of him in '52. Lady Chatterly along with many, many more books were banned in Ireland in the 1950's and for quite a long time after that. It's not impossible that he could read it - but very unlikely. This book is full of slightly crazy inaccuracies which some of us find annoying, fiction or not!

Laura Tully hahahaha oh I know everyone means well, but this made me laugh!!

Karen Bartlett Me too! Relax... it's called fiction for a reason.... :-)

Marguerita I'm with Jane Jermyn. Lingo, slang not in use, and inaccuracies flung around before their time subtracts from the joy of reading for me. Just my two.

Craig Campbell Maybe Fidel Castro had friends to whom he sent cigars by post in 1952. Perhaps he had friends before he was President.
