Tracie Thank you! I was totally confused. I started thinking that was Queenie in that opening scene, which made me wonder why the grandfather was there. I wish that would have been made more clear - maybe a chapter explaining Judy's story better. Loved the book, though!

Karen B If Judy was adopted as a surviving infant, and wasn't told about May until she was an adult and contacted Trent's grandfather -- how could she have been in the portrait/photograph?? I am confused.

Diane Sill Do you mean the photo of the four sisters? They were adults. They reconnected as adults, after all were married with families.

Suzanne Chadwick You're not the only one that was confused Lisa. I had to come here to figure it out. I could not figure out how Judy was a sister. Arggg!
