You won't regret it. In anticipation of Fool's Assassin, I re-read all of Hobb, including Soldier's Son. SS is a different world and not necessary to RotE at all, but reading the 13 RotE books is an excellent idea before Fool's Assassin. Plus, you'll have less time to wait before the 2nd book is out. Bonus!
