Martha I loved Lonesome Dove, ,but I have not been able to get amyone to read it. The reason: "I don't read westerns," as though I go around wearing cowboy hats and boots. My comment that it is about friendship in a western setting makes no difference.

Carole Morris @Kirsta -you and I have similar taste - my only 5-star ratings have gone to Lonesome Dove and A Gentleman in Moscow

Heather The Audible version is amazing as well, for Lonesome Dove, if you have friends that don't want to tackle "reading" a Western. One of my all-time favorite books!!

Yvette I came here after googling "What to read after Gentleman in Moscow" as I found a similar love in Lonesome Dove so I can only add "hear, hear!" or "I second that". Both were masterfully written.

Anne Marie I absolutely loved Lonesome Dove... I'll never forget weeping on the beach while reading it. Such a wonderful book!

DiddlyQuaQua Really really enjoyed A Gentleman in Moscow but I can't pass by without mentioning how affected I was by Lonesome Dove. Stunning book.
