I totally agree with Heather, when I finished this book, the title was clear. Will choose for himself, it was - Me before you.
My interpretation once I realized he would not, could not change his mind not matter what.
Agreed. I thought about this when I was done reading as well and it definitely dawned on me with the tattoo he chose and his letter to her after he was gone. Plus he kept telling her, "what about what I want, is anyone going to ask me what I want", he wanted to finally do what was best for him not what everyone else thought was best for him. He passed that on to her.
