Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It helped me to restore my faith in humanity even if just a tiny bit
I tried reading Crime and Punishment. Same deal. it';s like someone telling you that cigarettes are terrific. You just have to get used to gagging, nausea, and a lingering smell, plus yellow teeth and fingers and profound addiction. But once you get through that, you will really appreciate the beauty of tobacco. No, what you do at the point is try to convince yourself you've abused yourself for a worthwhile cause. I didn't read Lolita and won't. I will take your word for it. There is a reason it doesn't fly off the shelves.
