STEPHEN’s answer to “Anybody else out there who finds Hemingway's style almost completely unreadable?” > Likes and Comments

Not to mention, the style is beautiful. The first few pages are amazingly poetic, and the last paragraph so strikingly beautiful. With very little imagery, you can feel, not just understand, what Frederick is feeling.
Exactly! Although he keeps recurring to the same adjectives and descriptions, I always find myself immersed in the story. Hemingway is one of the few writers that can make me really feel emotions on a deep level. There are paragraphs and sentences that give me that butterfly feeling in the gut. Maybe because the way he describes things leave a space for my imagination and the simplicity of the dialogues makes me imagine the personality of the characters. He's one of my favourite writers, ever.
