Amanda Dekker I agree. I would rather clean out the refrigerator than try to figure out which Mary or Tom the book was referring to. I had really high hopes for this book and was extremely disappointed.

John Thanks for letting me know I was not the only one finding that book irritating in that way. Try reading this great book called Flight Home by someone I know and has had 5 star reviews on Amazon. Oh will you finish her book or give up?

Ladell Curtin In fairness to the author I will point out the characters in Wolf Hall are based on real life persons whose names were not made up by the writer. I know this doesn't make it any easier to keep track of all the Thomases and Marys, but it was the custom of the times to use just a few popular names. For instance, 3 of Henry VIII's 6 wives were named Catherine.
