Read Rick's newest book The dark Propechy, about Apollo. First Chapter you'll meet Leo and Calypso :D
Tbh I kinda wanted Percy to die, sacrificing his life to save Gaea. Possibly Annabeth before that or something that means they die together. I would've been absolutely crushed and Percy is my favorite character but it would've cleared up so much. He is extremely powerful obviously and I definitely believe a plan could be devised that ends in Percy using up all the power in his body, killing him, and Gaea defeated. Yes, Percy and Annabeth had their own series but that's what makes it so symbolic for HOO to end like that. It's like saying goodbye to our demigod who will always, *always*, be a good kid. The “it ends with who is started with” could've also contributed a nice plot twist. Kronos had been in Tartarus while conversing with Percy in TLT. Tartarus and Gaea are married. In HoH we see that Tartarus thinks rather fondly of his wife. What if they were planning this ever since Luke and Kronos, hoping Kronos would get rid of the gods for them. When he failed, they altered their plans but Gaea kept an eye out for Percy Jackson because she *knew* that he would be an important piece and that if she got him on her side, she would be unstoppable. Not really sure but I think it would've been a beautiful closing, ending with Percy getting to finally rest and see his friends in Elysium.
