My thoughts exactly..
Mine too; it's not so much "Resistance is futile - you will be assimilated", but rather "Assimilate me, assimilate me!"
I've often said, "Orwell was an optimist. He thought only the government would force this on people. He had no idea (unlike Ray Bradbury a la Fahrenheit 451) that people would do this to themselves."
