Yes, I agree. I particularly wonder why The Book Thief and the Golden Compass series are listed as children's books. Good to hear from a kindred spirit.
I think it's more that every book that isn't going out of its way to show off how "adult" it is will end up in the YA section... and that's exactly why YA books are so popular. Because the authors just want to write good stories.
O chose to read this book and am 55. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I related to the mothers and grandmother characters. I also thought about my 11 year old grandson as I read and how he would enjoy the book. I think this is a book for everyone.
