Mary Agreed with the comment about pirating and complaining in general, but I read an article indicating that the series has been complete almost from the beginning. Kinda bogus to delay just to drum up interest - if indeed that's what's going on. Haven't done a terrible amount of research to confirm, admittedly.

Jackie Don't know where you read it but he rewrote Book 2 about six times before it came out. The series is far from being "complete almost from the beginning".

He may have had an outline or something... but that's just good writing. Plan out what you're going to do.

message 3: by Eric (new)

Eric No, you're wrong. He's NOT holed up somewhere pouring over his life's work to make it perfect. Book 3 was already written before the 1st was released. He put book 3 on the back burner and is perpetually "editing" it while he pursues other projects he finds more interesting/profitable, like the video game project he got because of his newfound success. Leaving us out to dry is betrayal of his fans that got him where he is.

Randy Pirating is wrong, unethical from start to finish. Never an excuse.

Jo Leland Eric, you are entitled to your opinion, just as Patrick, is entitled to make choices as to how he uses his own life.

Jumper RBK I hope he can go back to the past and cancel writing this book. He is now enjoying his celebrity status by going to conventions one after another instead of finishing the book. 6 years for a book? This is not even War and Peace. Who the hell do you think you are Mr Rothfuss? Only two books and now you act like you are a big novelist. Come on. Also your blog sucks and full with useless things.

Jules The books are awesome, but I hope everyone, especially Pat, has higher expectations for him than having a single trilogy be his "life's work."

Joanne Abboud 4 years later ... i wonder what ur thoughts on the topic r today

message 9: by Dennis (new)

Dennis I'm definitely downloading from the internet.

message 10: by Joe (new)

Joe Bolo I'm still waiting. Plenty of other books to keep busy with in the meantime. Well, video games mostly. ☺️

message 11: by Donna (new)

Donna OMG I hope it is not his life's work! That would be sad indeed.
