I take offense at that statement. I am very rational, and a Christian. However, I don't force my beliefs down people's throats. Live and let live, I say.
It is troubling that being "Christian" has come to mean Evangelical/Fundamentalist Christian due to the current political coverage of the protestant church in general. There are many main line churches that are not dogmatic or or exclusive. In much the same way as there are many non-fundamentalist Muslims etc. Unfortunately the dog whistles are held by the Evangelicals.
