You might also want to look at The Road to Stalingrad," by Benno Zieser, a not-all-that-well known, but powerful work.

Ellie Midwood "A Woman in Berlin" is one of my favorite books despite the subject matter; it's just so incredibly powerful, even though it was extremely difficult to read at times... I'm pretty sure I read Stalingrad, but not the others, so I'll definitely check them out:) Thank you, Dennis!:)
