Leslie I think that type of thing has always been around but I do agree that it's gotten worse. One that really annoyed me was when one book was described as "'Game of Thrones' for women." Someone's brilliant response was, "There already is a 'Game of Thrones' for women. It's called 'Game of Thrones.'"

Mathew Authors do usually come up with their titles. It's the covers that editors/publishers do.

J It's not until the end of the book that you find out it actually is a "girl" before. Not referring to the women in the book, it's referring to the little girl. One of the last lines in the book is about the girl.
