Alisa The Poisonwood Bible is one of my favorite books of all time - every time I read it, I rejoice in how well written it is and how hard it is for me to put down.

Gabrielle I also loved The Song of Achilles. If you like retellings of the Greek epics, I also highly recommend The Penelopiad (Margaret Atwood) and The Lost Books of the Odyssey (Zachary Mason)
