Tammy Buchli I adored both of your Forgotten Actress books. I've always been interested in Clara Bow, but I can see that it would be hard to do her story from her POV, because she was just such a scatterbrain. Adorable, but damaged and destructive. Using Daisy as the narrator worked perfectly. And it gave us a twofer -- Daisy, in my opinion, has been as much the victim of slander as Clara. I really felt that the book redeemed both women, who have been characterized for too many years as The Slut and The Embezzler. I found your portrayals to be beautifully balanced. I'm really looking forward to your next book!

Laini Thanks SO much, Tammy! You're so right about The Slut and The Embezzler. I really think Daisy's gotten a bad rap all these years, thanks to Kenneth Anger, and I really did want to tell more of a balanced tale. I was happy David Stenn wrote his book and had a chance to interview Daisy (and Tui Lorraine) before they died. So informative, and really turned rumor on its ear. I appreciate you chiming in, and it's always nice to find a fan who gets me. (you like Sarah Bird too, so you obviously have great taste! ;) )

Tammy Buchli I read Stenn's book years ago when it first came out and loved it. Previous to reading it my only knowledge about our Clara were the various urban legends about her. Stenn's book about Jean Harlow is also very good!
