Annie B. As well as Pakistan, India, Congo, Ethiopia, Sudan, and many other countries where women are treated as chattel.

message 2: by Aarti (new)

Aarti You guys are completely delusional. Women have basic freedom in India, at least. I cannot speak for other countries, but I do not think this exact system is being enforced anywhere in the world. Educate yourselves before speaking

Pamela A Kieffer It does not happen like this in Saudi.

Komal @Annie B. - just a shout out from India. We're currently struggling with the challenges of any developing country and fyi have not adopted the Gillead way of life.
Thanks.

Buzzcogs hmm let's see.. human trafficking, repression of all other religions but the state religion, lack of equality for women. Sounds like Saudi Arabia to me.

message 7: by Aneeza (new)

Aneeza People who are giving examples of other countries are completely unaware of the said countries and like living in their own little bubble of ignorance

Mesho 👾 ignorance don't talk about countries you don't live in or even understand their religion.

message 9: by James (new)

James Edwards So because I don't live in India or Pakistan I can't condemn the culture of rape in the former or the persecution of non-Muslims in the latter?

message 10: by M.L. (new)

M.L. Sund I lived in Saudi for 2-1/2 yrs and, upon witnessing the abhorrent, slave-like treatment of women, I wrote my first book there, an epic poem of historical fiction, entitled VENUS ANH, ancient Roman goddess of women's rights. She is a prophet, above all others, one who speaks the truth about the valuable roles of women in successful societies, which Saudi's is not.
