A few years ago, when Bruce was in high school, he had this amazing gift of saying the most outlandishly hysterical things. He also had the gift of keeping an innocent straight face. Therefore, when a teacher entered the room they would find a student trying desperately yet unsuccessfully to hold back their laughter while Bruce sat there with a look of pity for the obviously touched student.

I sound like a psycho in this story!

I think it was more along the lines of ornery, clever and crafty.
