Karen Wills My book club, Our Ladies of Perpetual Disappointment, loved it.

Lonni Tanner I read both books and agree!

Perfect for you: All the Light We Cannot See, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction

Another winner: Signature of All Things, Elizabeth Gilbert (even if you don't like her). This book is a great read! Longlisted for the Baileys Women's Prize for Fiction

I hope you read the Book Thief. Don't treat it as YA. All of my friends loved it. Read it in one sitting.

And for just a darn great reads, which won tons of accolades and I adored, Imagine Me Gone by Adam Haslett (National Book Award Longlist, 2016).

I just finished Commonwealth by Anne Patchett (really liked it) and I'm on to Swing Time by Zadie Smith.

The Booksellers at Three Lives in NYC are my gospels!

Lonni Tanner Another match for you (even though you'll read the flap and say, "Nah" – The Good Lord Bird, James McBride. Really great and I was forced....

Bo You may also want to try "The Unlikely Soldier." It doesn't meet the same standard of literature that Gentleman does but it is a very fast read and an autobiography of a Jew in Hitler's army.
