Everything you wrote here is what I feel for basis of a GREAT book (books). In order for a book to be GREAT, it had to invoke feeling, good, bad, frustration, whatever...It had to be strong and it had to make you feel. If the book did these things, then it's a GREAT book.
I wholeheartedly agree. It was a fantastic book with great writing and I felt every moment whether I wanted to or not.
You are so right there I found this book so much more....... I won't leave any spoilers bit just to say at the end I rubbed my hands with glee for Claire
