Mariam, I am sure you are unique, and I must admit to being taken in by Ms. Reid's ruse and was hoping for Shelly's story. Shelly is a wonderful jumble of flaws, brains, and stubbornness and I hope we get her story some day. BUT... I reread (via audio-book) Grin and Beard It this weekend and there is a charming moment in the Piggly Wiggly where we glimpse how odd Jennifer is. Her family sounds creepy. Blackmailing proves she's devious. Odd plus devious equals Cletus; I think they are going to be perfect. There's also the scene of Cletus talking to Sienna about sex in kitchen and cake metaphors. (Chapter 30)
I am disappointed as well, but I'll get over it. It just means her story is going to blow our minds and I can't wait!
