I agree. I just finished the first one yesterday and I too am confused at some of the comments. The beating did bother me though, for chapters and chapters after. I was pretty pissy about it. But, him raping her. She consented every time. In the midst there was a few times where she said, no. Stop and he continued but, I never felt she was upset about it. Or abused/felt she was raped. Honestly, I thought she was getting a pretty huge O from it and it was becoming too intense a feeling for her.
Also laughing at people talking about how graphic the sex is. Yah no. Not even close to some of the stuff I have read. This was pretty tame
