i know this is like two years old, but yes i agree with you, at the time of laurie's proposal he didn't know what he was doing with his life, and he gave up, and the he chose a very, very bad timing to ask again. but it made sense that he ended up with amy, he had to stay with the march's.
Yes, I agree with you. And it was such bad timing when Laurie writes to Jo, professing his love to her while she was wrapped up in Beth. And even worse timing when Beth dies and then Laurie falls for Amy?? What makes me sad is when Jo talks to Marmee about how she would have said yes to Laurie if he asked again 😭😭 But he already proposed to Amy 😭
I was so mad and I agree with everyone, just seeing the new movie it makes me remember why I hated it so much, I mean they were children, and Jo just wanted to explore her passions and freedom, and I really love Laurie and I cannot believe he didn't really love her, so it must be he gave up and married Amy to stay close to her, or he wasn't really in love but I don't want to believe that.
And I HATE how they defended and completely transformed Amy in the new movie, making her character grow so much, I mean it is way better, but for me, having read the book, it just made me mad they defended her like that. She was a spoiled brat and she never deserved Teddy.
