Dan’s answer to “When can we expect a release date?” > Likes and Comments

I understand both sides of the equation. Unfortunately my memory of both GRRM and Rothfuss is that they both had trouble completing the last books and Rothfuss i remember thanked someone for helping him get the 2nd book finished. While we just want the book and rightfully so they have to THINK about what to write. And it has to blend perfectly to them within their vision of the story. I am not a writer but i can see where this would be easier said than done. As for GRRM he said he wishes that he hadn’t created 7 kingdoms and it is obvious to me over the last two or so books that he has lost a bit of control over his own story. So while i want the books and want them now and am disappointed when i have to wait long periods between books I also understand the creative process and recognize it will be when it will be and hopefully after the wait i will enjoy the later books as much as the earlier. For sure GRRM last two books i have enjoyed less than the first few. So many factors in this discussion
