Beverly McCall Love your answer and I agree the story idea and three dimensional character is critical. One can always do independent type studying--when I am captivated by a story, I start doing a character study and paying attention to the descriptive language. It helps me to understand the story elements which I think is important in writing your own book. This strategy helped me with the writing of my own children's book. It helped me to describe the emotions with adjusting to adoption.

Jane Blythe Absolutely, Beverly! The more you read and the more you write the better your storytelling becomes, and of course you have to love writing too, when you love it what you write comes from your heart and as such adds heart to your book!
