I don't know that there is anything specific in text (been a while since I read this) -but I did get the feeling it was something like fellatio-mostly hand on head thing. I didn't get why she kept saying I'm sorry. Someone else said victims feel guilty- not sure if I buy that-but can't think of anything else
Victims absolutely feel shame and guilt. So often they are taught that the abuse is something they brought on themselves. (Think about rape victims--how often do we hear "she shouldn't have been drunk or wearing that skirt or walking alone. ) I have been in a physically abusive relationship and it took years for me to realize that I hadn't brought it on myself. That my ex hated that he hit me, but that I had made him. )
