Thank you for your reply! I have now read this book, and I too, enjoyed it. There's no such thing as a perfect book, just good ones or great ones! I enjoy fantasy novels because they take us out of the here and now, to a new world, If they're good, the new world and people in it are interesting, and the stories are engaging, creative, and sometimes exciting. Thank you for your comments. I am a woman, just turned 60, and while I do read books other than fantasy, I usually don't like them very much. I read mysteries sometimes, but it's just such an overused genre that it gets boring to me! I mean, they're on TV everywhere, and in millions i'm sure of books. Some ARE good, but you have to read a lot of them before you can find one. I have a hard time finding genres that appeal to me.
