Adriana Delgado A sequel would be fantastic! And yes, what you pointed out is true. Personally, I felt that Emily and her choices were selfish and cruel at the time she made them. But I also realized the intense confusion and heartbreak that prompted her to disappear. I actually wanted to know more about how and if she would tell Drew exactly what happened, how would this new meeting between them work and if Claire survives her battle with cancer. I loved that Claire was Drew's daughter and not Gabe's and that Emily reflects that Claire looks so much like him so she could remember him. The book tugs at the heartstrings big time!
Thanks for answering my question.

Kim Hooper Yes, Emily is such a complicated character. I can see why some readers don't like her. She IS selfish and cruel at times, but life doesn't let her get off easy by any means. Thank you, again, for your thoughtful messages :)

Adriana Delgado I just realized I wrote; "Claire survives her battle with cancer". I meant Emily :)
Also, I reviewed the book a little more extensively for Blogcritics.org. here's the link in case you want to take a look:

It's actually featured on the main page right now.
Thank you so much again for responding to my questions.
Adriana.
