Eric Starr Same here. I was on a road trip to a jobsite, when my colleague started talking about a book he had read. He then started to describe "Battle Royale" to the point that I interrupted him, and had him reaffirm the title he had given me. I had never heard of "Hunger Games" at the time, but the more I heard about it, the more & more it sounded like BR.

The crux for me was when, years later, I saw a snippet of a movie on a TV in a friend's home (I don't watch TV myself at all), and thought immediately, "They finally made an American remake of Battle Royale!" Except it wasn't, just that Hunger Games again. How the author was able to pull off such a blatant act of plagiarism is simply beyond me.

The only difference is that I have never read Hunger Games and have no intention to, I'll stick with the original and not support the work of thieves.
