Thank you for your answer. Having real heroes back in the genre is refreshing, I must say. Can't wait to see what Kaladin does next. Good luck with your writing !
I think maybe the whole anti-hero thing is just an overreaction to many years of farmboy heroes and mary sues. I'm already pretty tired of the dark protagonists, and I agree that there is plenty of darkness under the surface of any good person. The conflict between our morals and our urges is such a part of the human experience that it's a shame more authors don't tap into that.
This is a very large part of why I gravitate to your work. I love that you embrace the honorable hero form. And even where you've written a character who can be considered borderline (Kelsier, Shai), they ultimately stand up for right instead of self. Please never stop doing this.
